Why the amazement?

Afterall, I have been living under my own understanding, not seeking the Lord’s, and I do not acknowledge the Lord in all my ways. So of course, I set my sights on things that are not part of His plans.

Kalie, Isn’t it great that all we need do is agree with God and change our minds about what we are doing? He makes it so easy for us. Why I resist or live on auto-pilot – that should be the real wonder.

This is a much-needed reminded that we will give God an account for our lives. It’s easy to just squeak by, doing enough to keep other people off our backs. But we are going to answer to God, who knows our hearts and therefore the true missions of our lives. This year I’ve been struggling with my identity as an unpublished (other than the NeoZine) writer. Sometimes I feel guilty when I don’t spend more time writing for publications because I’m busy doing ministry. But then I realized that’s way more worthwhile than trying to write some article the fundies won’t get. I’m not giving up on writing, and I’m not saying I have my life mission in order, either. I’m just pointing out how easily it is to get caught up in things that don’t really matter. and the reason I did it was ego–it’s an identity issue of me feeling insecure as a writer-wannabe. What I really want to be is a sacrificial, faithful servant of Christ. Which is going to require some repentance, so thanks for posting this.
